With a young family, this client wanted to make the most of their outdoor spaces all year round.
The solution? Extending their spaces with motorised blinds.
Beautiful, practical and hard wearing
The project had some particular requirements: the solution needed to be hard wearing, block westerly and northerly sun, and take into account young children using the spaces.
It also needed to match both the colour and finish quality of the newly built home.
Detailed finishes made all the difference
To meet the brief, we recommended eight motorised HMX130Zip external blinds, fitted with weather sensors and operated via the Clipsal Cbus automation system.
The HMX blind system included an enclosed headbox and zip side channels to conceal and protect the fabric roll and motor.
This meant the blinds had greater fabric stability in windy conditions, more protection from weather and insects and less light gaps at the edges of the fabric.
The Serge 3% fabric was chosen to reduce heat and UV light, then custom powder coated to coordinate with the home’s finishes.
The detailed installation that ensured no visible fixings or bolts complimented the homes high build quality and met our clients expectation.
A smart, safe automated solution
With children – and adults! – come outdoor furniture, bikes, toys and curious fingers. The safe solution was using the Clipsal Cbus automation system to allow the client to control the blinds remotely.
Wind and sun sensors were included that automatically lower or raise the blinds to meet weather conditions helping to protect both the outdoor living space and the blinds.
The Somfy motors feature smart obstacle detection that help protect the blinds by automatically stopping and raising the blinds if they hit an obstacle.
Fast turnaround for a lovely summer
The blinds were fitted and commissioned over two days by our team of specialist external blind and awning installers.
The high quality European designed and certified system was manufactured in Sydney within four weeks.
This ensured we met the project’s lead time and the blinds were fitted ready for the client and their family to enjoy over summer.
